Slide bolts let you lock working shutters closed from inside or out. Choose traditional cast iron bolts from John Wright or heavy-duty galvanized and stainless bolts from Lynn Cove, from a 3 3/8" micro bolt to a 20" cane bolt.

Which Slide Bolt?
- Everyday working shutters: a 6" or 8" slide bolt across the meeting rails.
- Tall or heavy shutters: a 12" hurricane or heavy duty bolt, or a cane bolt into the sill.
- Small or interior shutters: a forged micro, petite or small bolt.
- Near the coast: choose stainless steel.
Decorative shutters and hardware are not certified storm protection.
Questions
Where does the slide bolt mount?
Usually on the inside face of one shutter, with the keeper on the other, so the bolt slides across where the two shutters meet. A cane bolt drops into a keeper in the sill.
What does "throw" mean?
Throw is how far the bolt slides out past its housing, which sets how far it reaches into the keeper.
Are these rated for hurricanes?
No. The hurricane and heavy duty bolts are long and strong, but shutters and hardware sold here are not certified storm protection.
