The raised panel shutter is the shutter America grew up with. A raised panel is built the way a fine cabinet door is built: vertical stiles and horizontal rails frame a panel whose center stands proud of the surrounding wood. That step in the surface catches morning light and throws a shadow line across your facade that a flat, molded shutter simply cannot reproduce.

Each wood brings something different to the job. The inner panel is a separate choice from the frame: if you are painting your shutters we recommend Extira composite inner panels, and if you are staining them we recommend stain-grade jointed wooden panels.

Select Grade lumber means African Mahogany, Red Grandis, Incense Cedar, or Southern Yellow Pine. Shutters are custom sized to the 1/8" in both width and length.
¹ Extira©, used for the panel in our raised panel shutters and in some board and batten products, is a man-made panel that resists moisture, rot, and termites. It performs exceptionally well outdoors and can be used in any non-structural, paint-grade exterior application.
